Insurance, Explained the Way a Friend Would Explain It
Lighthouse Group is an independent health and life insurance agency helping individuals, families, and small businesses across Colorado understand their options and choose coverage with confidence.
Because we're independent, we're not tied to one insurance company. We compare plans from multiple carriers and take the time to explain what matters, from costs and benefits to doctors, prescriptions, and long-term needs.
As a family-run agency, we believe insurance should feel personal, straightforward, and easier to understand. Whether you're exploring health insurance, Medicare, life and disability coverage, or benefits for your small business, our team is here to help you understand your options and make an informed decision.

Coverage for Your Business, Your Health, and Your Family's Future
Whether you're covering a team of twelve, a team of one, or just yourself, we help you compare health insurance plans in Colorado without decoding every option on your own.
Small Business Health Insurance
We compare group health plans for Colorado businesses, help with enrollment and renewals, and answer employee coverage questions. Working for yourself? We also help self-employed business owners compare individual coverage options.
Individual Health Insurance
We sort marketplace plans, health shares, and other private options down to the few that make sense for you. We check tax credit eligibility, networks, and prescriptions before you enroll, so January doesn't arrive with a surprise deductible.
Medicare
Turning 65 or rethinking your current plan? We explain Parts A, B, C, and D without the alphabet soup, compare Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement options side by side, and keep track of the deadlines that come with penalties.
Life & Disability Insurance
Term life, whole life, final expense, long-term disability, and long-term care, all explained before we recommend anything. If you're self-employed, this is often the coverage that stands in for the employer plan you don't have.

Why Colorado Families and Business Owners Choose Lighthouse Group
Plenty of brokers can run a quote. What sets us apart is everything that happens before and after it.
We Remember What It's Like Not to Know
Co-owner Mandy came to insurance from the nonprofit world with no insurance background. That's why we start at the beginning, skip the jargon, and never assume you already know what coinsurance means.
We Actually Call You Back
Every message goes to a shared inbox our whole team watches, so you're never waiting on one person to check their email. Fast, proactive communication is how we've worked since day one.
We Stay After You Enroll
Claim questions, renewals, new hires, a plan that changed for next year: we're still your first call. You won't be left on hold with a carrier trying to sort it out alone.
One Team for Every Kind of Coverage
The same advisors can help with your small business plan, your family's health insurance, your parents' Medicare, and your life insurance. You don't have to start over with someone new every time your needs change.
Rooted in the Colorado Springs Community
We're an affiliate and sponsor of the Financial Planning Association of Southern Colorado. When your needs go beyond insurance, we can connect you with trusted local financial professionals.
Five-Star Reviews, Written After the Paperwork Was Done
Anyone can be friendly before you sign. Our Google reviews come from clients who've been through enrollment, renewals, and all the questions that come up in between.
Four Steps From "Where Do I Start?" to Covered
Our process is built so you understand every option before you're asked to decide anything. There's no pressure at any step, including the last one.
1: Consultation
We start with a conversation about your situation, your doctors, your budget, and the questions you've been putting off. Most consultations happen virtually, so you can join from your kitchen table.
2: Research
We compare plans across multiple carriers and narrow dozens of options down to the handful that fit.
3: Review
We walk through your shortlist in plain language, including deductibles, networks, and prescription coverage, so you know your real costs before you commit.
4: Enrollment
Once you've chosen, we handle the enrollment paperwork. After that, we're still your first call for questions, renewals, and plan changes.
A Colorado Springs Broker With Clients Across the State
We're a Colorado Springs insurance broker by address, but most of our clients never need to visit the office. As a statewide Colorado insurance brokerage, we meet virtually with clients in Colorado Springs, Denver, Fort Collins, Pueblo, and Grand Junction.
We serve clients throughout the Front Range, mountain communities, and the Western Slope.
If you live in Vail, Steamboat Springs, or Breckenridge, you already know mountain communities can face some of Colorado's highest health insurance costs. That's where comparing every available option matters most. We also have clients in Texas, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Arizona.
Straight Answers to What People Ask Us First
Does it cost more to use a health insurance broker in Colorado?
No, our help doesn't add to your premium. Brokers are typically paid by the insurance carrier, and marketplace premiums are set by carriers and filed with the state, so the price is the same with or without us. What changes is that someone compares your options and answers your questions along the way.
Can I get health insurance outside of open enrollment?
In many cases, yes. Open enrollment gets all the attention, but it’s not the only way in. If you’ve had a qualifying life event, like losing other coverage, moving, getting married, or having a baby, you can usually enroll in a marketplace plan within 60 days of that event. And plenty of coverage isn’t tied to open enrollment at all:
Health shares and some alternative plans can often start any time of year.
Small business group plans can be set up any time of year.
Medicare has its own enrollment windows, including when you first become eligible, so you don’t have to wait for fall.
Life, disability, final expense, and long-term care insurance can be applied for any time of year.
Not sure if you qualify for anything right now? Ask us. We’ll tell you what’s available today and what’s worth waiting for.
Do you only help people during open enrollment?
Not at all. Insurance is our full-time job, 12 months a year. Open enrollment is our busiest season, but people lose jobs, start businesses, turn 65, and change plans all year long, and we’re here for every bit of it. Reach out whenever a question comes up, in March or in November.
Who can help me pick a health insurance plan in Colorado?
An independent health insurance agent or broker in Colorado can compare plans from multiple carriers for you. That's what we do for individuals, families, Medicare beneficiaries, and small businesses. We lay out the options and the trade-offs, and you make the call.
When can I enroll in health insurance?
Marketplace health insurance open enrollment typically begins in November each year. The exact end date can vary, so it's a good idea to check the current enrollment dates before choosing or renewing a plan.
If you miss open enrollment, certain life events—such as losing job-based coverage, moving, getting married, or having a baby—may qualify you for a Special Enrollment Period.
Do you work with clients outside Colorado Springs?
Yes. We serve clients across Colorado through virtual consultations, from the Front Range to the mountain towns and the Western Slope. In-person meetings at our Colorado Springs office are available by request.
What should I look for in a health insurance broker in Colorado Springs?
Look for an independent broker who compares multiple carriers, clearly explains the trade-offs between plans, remains available after enrollment, and has client reviews you can verify. Lighthouse Group has been family-owned in Colorado Springs since 2015 and has over 40 five-star Google reviews.
